Mehbooba takes PDP leaders to task for bringing paid workers in rally | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 4: Jammu based PDP leaders, who usually hired poor people for party's rallies, were virtually caught red handed by party president Mehbooba Mufti today when she warned leaders against hiring people for political functions only to show their strength. "This is sheer exploitation of the poor people. I am going to tolerate such attitude from leaders who hired people for making their rallies success", she said while taking senior leaders to task for their failure to expand party in Jammu region. "In every rally at Jammu I usually found new worker in the function which is a clear indication that people are hired for such functions and they are not genuine workers", she said and warned party leaders against indulged in such deceitful tactics. "As long as you are indulged into gimmicks, party will not be strengthened in Jammu region", she said and made it clear to the leaders that she was not going to tolerate such things. "They are helpless people and you are exploiting their helplessness by hiring them for political function", she said while pointing towards gathering in the function. PDP president was not happy over the response of the "workers" especially females who were present in the function. She has easily judged these "workers" were hired and paid workers who would be paid some money at the end of the function. Hiring workers for political rallies has been a routine affair in the PDP especially after some influential people have joined the party. In the meeting which was held two years back at Gandhi Nagar, some refugees of Myannmar were hired by a leader to show his strength in the function. Mehbooba Mufti, who is known for her straight forwardness today clearly judged that a huge chunk of attendance in the gathering was hired, so she bluntly told party leaders not to indulge into such deceitful tactics. |
