| Impressive shoba yatra taken out on eve of Janamashtami | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 4: An impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out in the City here today on the eve of Janamashtami.
The Shoba Yatra was jointly organized by J&K Dharmarth Trust and Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) Jammu. A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in the Shoba Yatra.
Pooja archana was also performed at historical Raghunath temple where from Sawari of Lord Krishna and Radha was taken out in a specially decorated chariot.
The people enroute greeted the Shoba Yatra by paying obeisance to Lord Krishna and showering flowers on it. The people had be-lined the various routes on which the Shoba Yatra passed to greet it and have a glimpse of Lord Krishna. At various places people had also gathered on roof tops to greet the Shoba Yatra.
Various Bazar Associations, Mohalla Committees, social and religious organizations had erected welcome gates at various places in the city to greet the Shoba Yatra. The entire city was fully decorated befitting the occasion.
The devotees associating with Shoba Yatra were reciting bhajans and dancing to the tune of beating of drums in praise of Lord Krishna.
The authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the Yatra and a big contingent of police was deployed in the city for security purposes. |
