| Residents of Vijaypur decry unscheduled electric cuts | | |  Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Sept. 22: The local residents of Vijaypur in Samba district ;protested against callous functioning of the Electric Department to resort to unscheduled frequent cuts in power supply saying that they are paying electric bills regularly but the Power Development Department has utterly failed to provide uninterrupted power supply in the area..
While talking to the Early Times, the locals of Vijyapur clamoured that in connivance with the employees of Electric Department, migrant labourers have taken illegal connections in their Jhugies which they have erected in and around Vijaypur area and consuming power using heaters, water pumps and other electric appliances with impunity. They alleged that the local P.D.D. officials/officers are paying no heed and behaving as mute spectators indicating that they are hand in glove with the illegal power users. They urged upon the P.D.D. authorities to strengthen the power supply infrastructure which is in a very poor condition so that genuine grievances of the consumers are redressed. |
