JU likely to advertise post of Museum and Art Gallery Officer for fourth time in seven years | | | Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 22: For several aspirants, looking for a job in University of Jammu, against the advertised posts, is turning out to be a daunting task as owing to lethargic recruitment process the varsity is likely to advertise post of Museum and Art Gallery Officer for the fourth time in a span of seven years. Sources informed Early Times that University of Jammu (JU) had last time advertised the post of Museum and Art Gallery Officer in pay scale 9300-34800 with grade pay 5400, on 24/1/2013 according to recruitment notice number Adm/C&R/13/19-38. More than a dozen aspirants had applied for the posts and have been waiting for their interviews for the last two years and now there were reports that Varsity administration would advertise posts afresh. "Earlier also the same post was advertised in 2008 and re-advertised in 2011 and for the third time in 2013", sources said, adding that the post of Museum and Art Gallery officer was a non-teaching post and age limit of aspirants was important. "We have been applying for the same post for the last seven years and according to reports the posts is likely to be re-advertised in 2015. In the span of seven years, many of the aspirants have become overage and will not be eligible to apply", an applicant said. "What is the fault of those aspirants who crossed upper age limit and would be rendered ineligible if the posts are advertised afresh?", one of the applicant asked, adding that as per the notification of 2013, there were many other posts which were advertised, and most of them were filled but only few posts including post of Gallery officers were not filled and were likely to re-advertised. He further said that it was a deliberate attempt of varsity authorities to re-advertise the posts, as some officials in the administration were eyeing to adjust their blue-eyed candidate on the post. The aspirants appealed University authorities as well as Chancellor to direct varsity authorities to conduct interviews without any further delay. Despite repeated calls, Registrar Keshav Sharma did not respond to calls. An official of varsity, who was not authorized to speak to media disclosed pleading anonymity that it was the policy of Varsity to re-advertise all posts, which were not filled in two years after advertisement. "It is also mentioned in the advertisement notice that those who have applied earlier, need not apply again", he said. |
