| Kakora, Kaniyar Gali locals protest over 'bad condition' of roads | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 22: Irked by the bad condition of the roads, residents of the Khaniyar Gali and in its adjoining areas in Manjakot tehsil areas held a protest today and appealed the authorities to wake up from the slumber and take steps to improve the road.
Raising slogans against concerned agencies, the inhabitants of Kakora, Khaniyar Gali and in its adjoining areas in Manjakot staged demonstration against the District Administration and PWD (R&B) Officials alleging despite several representations to concerned officials , Kakora-Khaniyar Gali link road is in worst condition.
Protestors said this road stretch is not only dotted with potholes which get filled with water and cause inconvenience to them. They also lamented that worn out roads have forced the private transporters to stop or reduce the frequency of their passenger vehicles on such roads to avoid damage to their vehicles which is resulting in overloading and risk to people of areas.
"People of the area especially students and employees facing many problems to reach in time at their desired destinations due to inadequate public transport," said Parviez Khan. Protestors added the issue was raised several times before the District Administration and concerned PWD(R&B) officials but despite promises nothing on ground has been done till today. On getting information of protest SHO, Manjakot and Naib Tehsildar rushed to the spot and assured to look into problem soon following which protesters lifted the protest. |
