Week long celebrations of Software Freedom Day commences at SMVDU 9/22/2015 11:57:27 PM Katra, Sept 22: Software Freedom Day is a worldwide celebration of Free & Open Source and Software (FOSS). Software usage these days is inevitable in almost every field. FOSS is a very good alternative to the paid software and is available free of cost. FOSS communities' worldwide work in collaboration and anyone can contribute to the FOSS creation. Being an alma mater of numerous Open Source Contributors and Supporters, SMVDU is a part of SFD 2015 celebrations at 124 different venues worldwide this year. The SMVDU went a step ahead in celebrations and extended this fiesta to a whole week. Information about various events and official registration for the various events is being done through the official website of SFD created by SMVDU students: http://sfd.smvdu.net.in Vice Chancellor SMVDU, Prof. Sudhir K Jain inaugurated the event.
