Jammu, Oct 16: Robotic surgery is the latest evolution of 'advanced Urology' surgical procedures and is now available at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi. Addressing a press conference here today in Jammu, Dr Vimal Dassi, Senior Consultant , Dept of Urology, Robotics and Renal Transplant at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, elaborated on the benefits of the robotic surgery in urologic surgery.
Dr Dassi , Senior Consultant , Dept of Urology, Robotics and Renal Transplant at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, said, "Urologic surgery with da Vinci surgical robot is state of art facility now available in Max Hospital, Saket. "Using the Da Vinci surgical robot's mechanical arms and 3-D video camera, surgeon performs minimally invasive surgeries resulting in smaller incisions, quicker recovery, shorter hospitalization, reduced blood loss and better patient outcomes, he claimed and added that Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, has acquired the Robotic system named Da Vinci Xi model (4th generation). "This is the latest and most advance robotic system in the world which helps surgeon to perform a very precise surgery to obtain excellent results," he said.
He maintained that at Max Hospital, Saket, a well-trained team headed by Dr Anant Kumar will be actively involved in direct patient care and robotic surgeries and the team is specialized in the full range of urologic surgeries, including those for bladder, prostate, kidney cancer and other benign urological diseases
