Hizb warns people against indulging in 'immoral' activities | | | S.Tahir-ul Haq
BARAMULLA, Oct 16: The Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit has asked the people in north Kashmir to desist from indulging in "immoral" activities, or be ready for the consequences. Sources told Early Times that handwritten posters of the outfit were seen pasted on electric poles in the main market of Pattan town in Baramulla on Friday morning. The outfit claimed they have found that "immoral and anti-Islam activities like liquor and flesh trade" are being carried out in various areas of Pattan. "We have kept the names of these people confidential because we don't want to defame them before the general public," it added. A senior police official said, "We do not rule out the hand of Hizbul Mujahideen behind these posters." He said it is not for the first time that such posters have surfaced in the Valley. "The posters can also be a handiwork of pranksters and we are investigating the matter," the official said. |
