Tiny Tots School celebrates World Food Day' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 16 : Students of Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School celebrated "World Food Day'' drive today in honour of foundation of FAO of United Nations and also to make people aware and join to declare their commitment to eradicate hunger. On the concluding day, a large number of children contributed generously, school representatives visited Anganwari centres and distributed food and other essential commodities to the underprivileged children. They also interacted with them and came to know about their daily needs. Principal of the school, Deepali Handa explained that it is utmost responsibility of every individual to strengthen national and international solidarity in the fight to end hunger, malnutrition and poverty. She further added that with falling water tables, eroding soils and raising temperatures, where it is difficult to feed growing population, a global struggle to secure food is a big challenge. Avoiding wastage of food is imperative for food security and hereby, a little initiative taken by the young Tiny Tots is praiseworthy and it also inculcates in them a sense of responsibility and commitment towards society and nation. |
