| Chemist allegedly roughed up for misbehaving with cops | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 16: A chemist was roughed up by police after he allegedly had thrashed cops on duty at Surya Chowk, Channi Himmat, Jammu.
As per reports, the incident took place in the late evening of Friday when the cops on duty were clearing the traffic congestion in the area.
As eyewitnesses on anonymity said that the Chemist namely Shanty Singh who had parked his car in front of his shop in the name and style M/s Guru Harkrishan Chemist Shop along the road side was seen a root cause of bottle neck for traffic in the area. 'Accordingly he was asked to park vehicle somewhere else, eyewitness said adding, "instead of obliging the plea of cops regarding moving vehicle from the roadside the chemist turned upon cops and got engaged in heated verbal dual with police personnel .
Reports added the incident took ugly turn when the chemist reportedly thrashed a Hawaldar on duty and chemist also scuffled with other cops who tried to pick the chemist shop. The said incident has evoked mixed reactions from the locals some supported the police saying that the people need to park their vehicles at proper parking slots while traders siding with chemist staged protested against police.
However it was after the intervention of the SHO concerned the matter was pacified and traders lifted their protest. |
