Banihal, Oct 16: A meeting of Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Committee Ramban, was held under the chairmanship of District development Commissioner Ramban, Bashir Ahmed Dar and approved 32 cases of route permits for mini buses, auto three and four wheelers and taxis/maxi cabs. The meeting was attended by ADDC, Ravinder Sadhu, SSP, Randeep Kumar (Member), SSP Traffic, Sanjay Kotwal (Member), ARTO, Shami Kumar(Member Secretary) and other concerned officers.
ARTO briefed the chair about the problems faced by the local people at remote areas of Tehsil Gool, Ramban, Banihal, Ramsoo, Batote and Rajgar where small road stretches are available for plying the mini buses. He also informed the chair about the available strength of vehicles and the vehicles required for facilitating the locals.
Total 52 applications which were discussed threadbare keeping in view of needs of local people particularly the unemployed youth, the committee approved 32 cases. DDC also emphasized upon transport and traffic authorities that there should be no overloading, overcharging and irregular vehicular movement on the new road stretches. |
