Udhampur Attack Case: NIA Court sends Naved to custody for three day | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 16: In a much publicized Udhampur Attack case, today Special Judge NIA YP Kotwal granted three days custody of Mohd Naved to NIA. Meanwhile Court also granted seven days police remand of Shabzar Ahmed who was arrtested by the NIA on October 13. Special Judge NIA YP Kotwal observed that in view of the facts of the case, arrest of accused Shahbzar Ahmed allowed the application ofNIA seeking change of custody of Mohd Naveed from Judicial to police and remanded Mohd Naveed to police custody for a period of three days from October 17 and also directed Supt Central Jail to handover the custody of Mohd Naveed to CIO NIA for his custodial investigation for period of three days. He also directed that CIO NIA shall handover the the accused back to Supt Central Jail Jammu after expiry of period on October 19, at 4:00 PM. This direction came in the wake of application filed by Chief Investigating Officer Atul Goel seeking custody of Mohd Naveed @ Usman s/o Mohd Yaqoob presently on Judicial remand and lodged in Central Jail on the ground that a co-accused namely Shahbzar Ahmed of Kulgam has been arrested on October 13. CIO-NIA also submitted that during his interrogation, the accused has revealed fresh facts leading to the terrorist act which needs instant investigation and also requires to be placed before the Mohd Naved for identification. In the meanwhile Court also granted seven days police remand of Shabzar Ahmed who was arrtested by the NIA. (JNF) |
