JKNPP flays Govt for failure to release wages | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 30 : Strongly flaying the State Govt. for its failure to release the pending salaries and wages of RETs, Daily Rated, Contractual, and Casual besides several other categories of ministerial staff who have not been paid for the last several months, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP regretted inability of the ruling coalition to show concern of lower rung employees. He deplored that despite ensuing Dewali season, the Govt has closed the secretariat without making any announcement with regard to the release of wages, and arrears of the employees who suspended their protests on the assurance of the Govt for clearing their pending claims expeditiously. Singh lamented that the workers of various essential services Departments were forced to work like bonded labourers without paying their meager monthly wages ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 4500 for months together since formation of the present dispensation. He said that education volunteers of Education Deptt. were not paid even a single penny for the last more than one year resulting in large scale pendency of their arrears propelling them to a stage of starvation. Calling upon the State Govt. to fulfill its promises made to the said categories of employees and release their wages prior to Diwali festival failing which the Panthers Party would organize protests demonstrations outside the official residences of Ministers. |
