Why is BJP govt not declaring Pakistan a rogue state? | Charity must begin at home | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 30: The other day, the state unit of the leaderless, directionless and issueless BJP urged the international community to take cognizance of what former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf said about the Pakistani role in Kashmir and in Pakistan to promote religious terrorism against India and declare Pakistan a rogue state. Musharraf had said that "Taliban Haqqani, Osama Bin Laden, Zawahiri, Hafiz Lakhvi are heroes of Pakistan" and Pakistan promoted and funded religious terrorism in Pakistan to hurt and bleed India and annex Kashmir. "The recent admission of Musharraf that Pakistan trained and sponsored religious terrorism in Kashmir and acceptance of Pakistani bankers before the Anti Terrorism Court of Pakistan that huge amount was drawn from the account of one of the seven accused of 2008 Mumbai attack before the conduct of attack, vindicates the oft-repeated charges of Indian Government that Pakistan is the mother of terrorism," the state BJP said, and added that the international community should take cognizance of these revelations and act firmly against Pakistan, whose actions are dangerous for the peace and security of not only India but the world community. "Pakistan should be declared as a rouge state and it should be punished by imposing political, economic and military sanctions," it said. It was intriguing that the BJP, which is in the driving seat in New Delhi, instead of asking the Narendra Modi government to declare Pakistan a rogue state, asked the international community to do the job. It is India which has suffered the most at the hands of terrorist Pakistan. It should have declared Pakistan a terrorist and rogue state long ago and had it taken such an action, the situation today in the country, including Kashmir, would have been somewhat different. It appears the local BJP leadership has not studied the PDP-BJP agenda of alliance on the basis of which the coalition government was formed in March - agenda of alliance that was abetted and endorsed by none other than the top RSS leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and BJP national president Amit Shah. The agenda of alliance not only maintains the J&K's special status within the Indian Union, but also declares Pakistan and Hurriyat leaders as other important stakeholders in the state. The BJP leadership only made a fool of itself by asking the international community to declare Pakistan a rogue state. First it should go through the agenda of alliance and then make any statement on Pakistan. The BJP cannot fool the nation by making such ridiculous statements. The BJP should know that the people have come to the conclusion that the "BJP can play a mischief" and "compromise the Indian stand on Jammu & Kashmir to appease the pro-Pak Kashmiri separatists". |
