Not a word of sympathy for victims of fanaticism
Peace groups or gangs of secessionists

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 30: A number of so-called peace groups came into being in the Valley and outside after 1989, when the secessionist and communal movement gripped Kashmir. These peace groups or civil society groups or champions of human rights have never ever said a word of sympathy for those who were abused, tortured, insulted, persecuted and hounded out of Kashmir in the early 1990.
Nor have they ever spoken a word for India, which has always given a preferential and differential treatment to Kashmir and to the Valley leadership belonging to a particular religious sect that has been at the helm of affairs in the state since October 1947.
But more than that, these groups have never ever appreciated the pain of the neglected people of Jammu province and Ladakh region who have been crying for justice and demanding an equal say in the governance of the state with Kashmir since 1947, when the state acceded to India.
On the contrary, these nasty peace groups have always sided with the Kashmiri separatists and terrorists and supported their anti-India cause in and outside India. They are not peace groups or peace-mongers or civil society groups or champions of human rights; they are actually gangs of mercenaries who are minting easy money by backing not only the separatists and fanatics like Syed Ali Shah Geelani but also by supporting the reign of senseless brutalities unleashed by them and Pakistan. They, like the fanatics in Kashmir and so-called mainstream Kashmiri leadership, have always held the Army and the paramilitary forces and central laws responsible for the alienation of Kashmiri Muslims and condoned the crimes of such dreaded terrorists as Afzal Guru and Masarat Alam. The fact of the matter is that they are more dangerous than the Kashmiri separatists as they roam about as peace-mongers.
On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Initiative for Peace condemned the October 9 Udhampur episode that led to the death of Zahid of Kulgam.. The organization also referred to a couple of other incidents which took place in Jammu province years ago and said "if such attacks are not taken a serious note of by the civil society, the centuries old civilized and sanctified communal harmony will get dented".
No one would question the concern the Initiative of Peace showed for Zahid, as no one has the right to take the law of the land in his/her own hand, but one would surely question its indifferent attitude towards the victims of secessionism and communal violence and victims of the Kashmiri-dominated political and administrative apparatus. This peace outfit didn't bemoan the kinds of atrocities the Kashmiri Hindus were subjected to or the kind of situation the people of Jammu province have been leading their life in, particularly since 1990. Its whole approach was biased, subjective, Kashmir-centric as well as one-community-centric. Beware of the outfits like Jammu and Kashmir Initiative for Peace.
