Mufti persuaded Modi to visit JK, announce financial package | BJP leaders not taken on board for PM's Srinagar rally | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 30: The BJP ministers in Jammu and Kashmir were reportedly not taken on board before Prime Minister Narendra Modi planned his forthcoming visit to Jammu and Kashmir, sources told Early Times on Friday. They said the Prime Minister was persuaded by the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to visit JK on November 7 and announce the financial packages for the people. "Since the day PDP-BJP have attained power in Jammu and Kashmir, none of the BJP ministers have even made an attempt to approach the Prime Minister's Office to seek an appointment with him to invite him to state," sources revealed. They said, "This time around PM was persuaded by the Chief Minister to visit JK and BJP ministers had no idea about it." It seems BJP ministers didn't want Prime Minister Modi to visit JK as their performance has not been upto the mark, and they have nothing to show. "With just a few days left for the PM to visit the state, the BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir seem to be in deep slumber. They are not putting in any effort to mobilize their workers and activate their men to ensure that PM's rally becomes a success," sources added. They said high command and people in the Prime Minister's Office were not that inclined to take the state BJP leaders into confidence before finalizing the PM's JK visit. "Peoples Democratic Party is putting in all the efforts to ensure that Modi's rally in Srinagar becomes a success," said a source. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It seems the Prime Minister and the BJP high command have realized that BJP ministers lack that acumen and support in JK to make big events a great success. BJP won 25 seats in Jammu region as BJP candidates rode on the Modi wave to win Jammu." The analyst alleged that dismal performance of the BJP ministers has annoyed the party high command. "BJP ministers failing to play a pro-active role during the past eight months has not gone well with the top party leaders. Disunity among the state BJP leaders has also disappointed the central leaders," he added. The separatist turned politician Sajad Gani Lone, who played a pivotal role in November 2014 to make the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally a grand success this time around has not stepped in so far and is watching the preparations as a mute spectator. "PDP is not interested to take Sajad on board, nor has Sajad shown any inclination towards doing his bit," said a source. He said, "BJP leaders and ministers are not even aware about the preparations. Nor have they been taken on the board. Kashmir based leaders of the BJP, whose role is just confined to issuing statements too are clueless about PM's Srinagar rally." Sources revealed that PDP has asked its ground level workers to ensure that PM's Srinagar rally becomes a grand success and the venue of the rally should be houseful. "Top PDP leaders have been asked to stay put in Srinagar and move to Jammu after the rally is over," the source added.
