Rajouri/Poonch, Oct 30: District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri and Poonch organised two block level workshops on 'Women Self Help Groups' (WSHGs) and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) at Mendhar and Surankote. Des Raj, District Development Manager, NABARD, Rajouri and Poonch informed that the objective of the workshop was to sensitise the BLBC members to upscale the WSHG- Bank linkage programme and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs)-credit linkage programme in the district Poonch. Participants were informed that NABARD is implementing WSHG scheme in district Poonch and the scheme is being implemented through an anchor NGO namely, Jamola Nehru Youth Club. The NGO has formed and saving linked these WSHGs with the nodal branches of banks in the district. He also explained the concept of Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) scheme to the participants. He motivated the participants to form and credit link JLGs in their area of operation. The branch managers raised the operational issues which were also sorted out in the workshop. The workshop was attended by Sh. Rakesh Sudan, Lead District Manager, Poonch, Sh. Ayub Ahmad Khuroo, The Director, J&K Bank -RSETI, Poonch, Sh. Kamal Gupta, Convenor, BLBC Mendhar, Sh. Abdul Khaliq, Convenor, BLBC, Surankote, branch managers of Mendhar and Surankote bloks and other stake holders. |
