Symposium on "Role of Youth against Corruption" held

Akhnoor, Oct 30 : In connection with the ongoing "Vigilance Awareness Week" today a symposium on the topic "Role of Youth against Corruption" was organized by State Vigilance Organization in collaboration with Govt. Degree College, Akhnoor at Akhnoor.
In the symposium Sr. Superintendent of Police, Vigilance, Jammu, Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma was the chief guest and Prof. Sat Paul Sharma, Principal, Govt. Degree College, Akhnoor, presided over the function. The symposium was anchored by Miss Sonakshi Sharma of B.Sc. IIIrd Sem and Miss Mansi B.Sc. IIIrd Sem. Twenty (20) students of different classes of the Degree College, Akhnoor participated and delivered their valuable opinion on corruption and the measures to curb this rising menace. Students shared their thoughts on the different aspects of the corruption in the society and on ways and means to eradicate corruption from the society. Principal of Degree College Prof. Sat Paul Sharma appreciated the efforts of the State Vigilance Organization, Jammu in organizing the said symposium in the Degree College, Akhnoor among the youth of the community. The Principal, faculty and students of the Degree College affirmed their resolve to fight the menace of corruption with their sincere and honest efforts. Miss. Sheetal Pawar of B.Sc. 1st Sem. was adjudicated first by the panel of jury members, whereas Miss Sonakshi Sharma of B.Sc. IIIrd Sem. and Miss Anju Sharma of BA IIIrd Sem. were adjudicated 2nd and 3rd respectively. The winners were honored with the trophies and certificates and all the participants were also awarded with certificates of participation for their encouragement. Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Vigilance, Jammu while speaking on the occasion discussed various dimensions of corruption and the role of youth in eradication of this social evil. He appreciated different view points of the students and thanked the Principal faculty and students of the College for their collaboration in organizing the event and their valuable contributory ideas/suggestions in the context of controlling and eliminating the corruption from the society.
