Jammu, Oct 30 : Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (JKBWA) hailed Government of India's decision of abolishing interview system for non-gazetted posts in Central Government. On the occasion, a 'Telephone Directory 2015' was also released and former association general secretary R.L.Kaith who readied the said telephone directory after collecting data from various sources, said it is a listing of members of the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association and its subordinate bodies. It contains on number of pages with row wise and column wise details. Its purpose is to allow the telephone numbers of the members identified with names and addresses to be found. Also, it has helpline numbers of Police, Hospitals, Cooking Gas Agencies, Electricity, PHE, Nursing Homes, Airlines, Railways, Fire Services, Municipal Corporation, Print & Electronic Media and Taxi/ Bus Service. Association President Ex-MLA Sat Paul Lakhotra and all Association members present in the function appreciated this tremendous effort of Kaith. Association also hailed the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that from January 1 next year, there will be no requirement of interviews for non-gazetted posts in Central Government. This move has paved way for genuine candidates to get selected easily as earlier on, the selection committee members would often select only those candidates with whom they were in contact, said President Lakhotra adding that panellists would pose only such questions as were not related to the subject, just to discourage the candidates and find fault with his preparation for the job. On the other hand, this will also put an end to the menace of corruption in jobs, said the Association members. They appealed the State Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to adopt this procedure also for recruitment process in the State so as to accelerate the pace of recruitment.
