Reserve classes lambast govt for not defending reservation in promotion | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 30: Law knowing people from reserve classes today lambasted state government for not defending reservation in promotion. Addressing media persons here on Friday, on the issue of representation of the reserve classes in Government service, Inderjeet Shavotra and Pawan Kundal, Advocates of Reserve Classes said that the judgment of High court was passed in a very harsh manner and role of the state Govt. for not providing quantitative data of SC/ST in Govt. service and their representation in Govt. service is very harassing. The state Government is providing Reservation to the Reserve Classes in education, appointment, promotion and political Reservation to SC, they said. Whereas 90% students studying in govt. school from primary level belongs to reserved classes and specially SC and ST. But education system failed from primary level to secondary school level. These poor people have to compete with the students of reputed status which is practically not possible for the poor students to succeed. So even schools for the reading is different for reserved classes students and forward classes' students and govt. has not taken any steps to improve this system. It was appealed to the govt. employees of the reserved classes to go on one day mass casual leave as a matter of protest against the govt. for not restoring the reservation in promotion, and not responding on their demand for implementation of the 77th and 85th amendment of the Constitution of India in Jammu Kashmir State. Adv Shashi Bushan Thappa, Adv Sahil Bavoria , Adv Sunit Lochan and Sunita Banotra addressed the media persons. |
