CMO denies reports of protest against alleged negligence in patient care | | | Early Times Report rajouri, Oct 30: While refuting the allegations of non co-operation by the staff at Community Health Centre (CHC) Thanamandi and protest by the locals, appeared in a section of the media, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Block Medical Officer (BMO) said that the patient (boy) was referred to District Hospital under legal formalities after providing first aid at CHC. They also refuted the allegations that ambulance was not provided to the patient and said that the injured boy namely Mohd Kasav was sent to District Hospital in the ambulance after completing all the legal formalities. Mohd Kasav was brought to CHC at Thanamndi on Thursday with head injury after he was hit by an unidentified motorcyclist while coming out of the school. Dr Iqbal Malik, BMO said that today they held meetings with the hospital staff and prominent citizens of Thanamandi town and it was established that the patient was first treated at CHC and as the boy had received head injury and needed special investigation, he was shifted to District Hospital in the hospital ambulance. He added it was also established that no protest demonstration was held in the town against hospital staff for any negligence as was appeared in the news published. He said that some vested interests spreading rumors against the Health department functioning. Directions have been issued to the institution head for local purchasing of medicines in case of any medical emergency. |
