| Notorious drug peddlers held with huge haul of intoxicant drugs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 30: In its continuous drive against drugs and drug peddlers, Jammu Police today achieved major success by recovering huge consignment of drugs with the arrest of three notorious drug peddlers while recovering 230 bottles of corex and 2500 Spasmo Proxyvon (brand name) Capsules from their possession. Police have identified the arrested accused namely as Tejinder Singh s/o Hardev Singh of Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, Navneet Kumar alias Nonnu s/o Satvir Kumar of Rehari Colony, Jammu and Sameer Ahmad s/o Gafoor Ahmad of Rehari Colony, Jammu. Police spokesman said that acting on a specific input police party headed by SI Sumit Magotra in-charge Police Post Nehru Market and SI Ajay Angotra of Police component Jammu raised a nakka at Bikram Chowk and intercepted above said three persons. Police spokesman said that they were arrested when they were on way to deliver the consignment of drugs in two vehicles bearing regd no JK02C-2510 (Maruti Van) and JK02AV-1104 (Figo).
Pertinent to mention here that the drug peddler Tejinder Singh claims to be Advertisement Manager cum Distributor of one of the local daily publiched from Jammu City and Maruti Van used for the delivery of such drugs brandishes ‘media logo’ on its front. On questioning, this has also come to notice that these drug peddlers have been using Vehicles bearing “Press’ for transportation of drugs into the city from quite long time. From the possession of T P Singh, 4 identity cards of different media groups have also been recovered, which he was using to dodge Police. “By busting of this module of drug peddlers, using vehicles with Press logo to escape the Police Nakas is indeed a major success for Jammu Police, police spokesperson said.
He added that the arrest was made by Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SHO Gandhi Nagar under the close supervision of Sachin Gupta SDPO Gandhi Nagar, Shahzaad Salaria, SP City South, and overall supervision of Uttam Chanel, SSP Jammu.
