For raising parking lot, shops at Parade Ground, JMC proaches HC | Court issues notice, directs state to file objections | | early times report Jammu, Nov 2: Even as a high court division bench had in a PIL directed that no other activity be done at Parade Ground except for sports, Jammu Municipal Commissioner (JMC) commissioner today filed an application in the high court, seeking its permission to allow them to construct three tier under car parking facility and shops with the Anchor Stores and food court area at Parade Ground. In the application it has been submitted that the upper ground floor of the shopping area has been retained as play field with the better facilities for the sport lovers and with ultra modern jiggers track obstruction free sitting stands with poly carbonate sheets roof. In the application it has been further submitted that the corporation has planned a complex consisting of 3 tier underground parking facility for 861 cars and the lower ground floor there is shopping aracade area similar to the Palika Bazar comprising 58 shops. A high court division bench of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice B S Walia, after hearing the senior AAG, issued notice to the petitioners of PIL and also directed them to file objections before next date of hearing. |
