BSP says reservations not a charity

Kathua, Nov 02: Bahujan Samaj Party, BSP today held mammoth protest rally under the leadership of Tarsem Khullar, BSP State President and ML Tomar Ex MLC (UP)- BSP coordinator J&K and demanded immediate calling of special session of the State Legislature for extending 77th, 81st and 85th Amendment Acts of Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir State so that the situation in the matters of promotion in employment arising as a result of Court orders could be negated for all times to come.
Addressing gathering, Tarsem Khullar said that the reservation for SC/ ST/OBC was not a charity but a matter of according representation to the people who were traditionally deprived of education, means of livelihood and safety. He appealed the judiciary to resist such tactics and not fall prey to such conspiracy.
Speaking on the occasion, ML Tomar Coordinator of BSP for JK said that the BSP shall continue to espouse the cause of backward sections and minorities as per principles laid down by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in all 22 district of Jammu and Kashmir in days to come. BSP state Vice President Som Raj Majotra warned that all opposition parties including Congress, because of their weaknesses, have surrendered before communal and Castes forces lead by RSS, VHP, BD that back BJP but BSP will fight alone for the right of Bahujan Samaj. He exhorted the people of Kathua for giving a befitting reply to the parties like BJP & Congress who have been responsible for deprivation of downtrodden sections of society.
Later, they also submitted a memorandum to DDC Kathua Ramesh Kumar comprising several demands including reservation for SC/ST/ OBC in DPC.
Among other who participated including Rattan Bhagat, KL Attri, SN Dogra, HC Thapa Ravinder Sarpanch, Advocate Parshant and advocate Adarsh also spoke on the occasion against High Court’s direction for ceasing reservation quota in DPC.
