Kishtwar, Dec 31: A milch animal, which was lying dead at Chowgan Ground here, was shifted by police to an isolated place on the outskirts of the town and buried there.
The dead animal was being eaten by dogs when some locals spotted it and informed senior police officers who directed Kishtwar police station SHO Mohammad Afzal Wani to visit the spot and ensure proper disposal of the dead animal.
Police sources said the SHO was rushed to the spot to find out if it was an act of sacrilege or not. However, after proper examination of the animal's dead body, it was found out that it had died a natural death, sources informed.
The SHO then removed the body to the outskirts of the town and buried it there.
