Thousands throng to celebrate New Year at tourist resorts
No takers for separatists, diktats

Srinagar, Dec 31: Defying dictations of separatist factions, the New Year celebrations kicked off at tourist resorts with thousands of people including locals, tourists from different parts of country and abroad thronging to celebrate New Year.
Tourist Resorts Gulmarg and Pahalgam have once again attracted thousands of people from the state, other parts of country and abroad as well to celebrate new year.
Reports received from Gulmarg and Pahalgam said that all the hotels, guest houses and locally rented accommodations are booked after thousands of people of different walks of life arrived in the resorts.
A Hotel manager at Gulmarg told Ealry Times that his hotel was booked by brokers from different parts of country few days ago and likewise all other Hotels and Guest Houses in the area were also booked.
Another Hotel Manager from Pahalgam said that keeping in view huge rush of tourists thronging to celebrate new in Gulmarg, they have made special arrangements for tourists by arranging different musical and cultural programmes this evening.
Besides foreigners, many locals have also thronged to places like Pahalgam as well to celebrate the New Year programmes organized by different groups independently.
Gulmarg is likely to see more rush of tourists on New Year eve as earlier today National Ice Skating Championship was also kick started by Department of Tourism in Gulmarg in which nearly 120 participants participated from 18 different states of country including skaters of Jammu and Kashmir.
New Celebrations at Tourist Resorts of Kashmir are commencing despite dictations from Separatist factions to abandon celebrating New Year Commencing in Gulamarg and at other places.
One Hardliner faction of Separatists while dubbing New Year celebrations as cultural aggression has said that "this so-called modern civilization has destroyed the social setup of the Man and has reduced a human being to the level of an animal."
"The Western culture is now reckoned as rejected culture and the people of New York and Washington too are fed up with the vulgar and horrific actions of this culture. People in West are running away from their wild civilizations and are taking refuge in religion especially in Islam but some cheap mentality people are still copying this culture here," a statement of Separatist reads.
According to a Credible report, one event management company "Kashmiriyat" expressed worry about its proposed musical and comedy show on December 31 in Gulmarg as the Hardliner woman separatist leader,Asiya Andrabi has described the event as part of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) agenda.
