Jammu, Dec 31: Continuing its drive against narcotics smugglers targeting youth in city, the police today arrested two narcotics smugglers during a checking at Vigilance Rotary Chowk, Jammu and recovered 13 grams Heroin from their possession. Pertinently police have arrested over a dozen narcotics smugglers including a constable till now alongwith seizure of Heroin in last ten days.
According to police spokesperson, "On specific input , a joint naka was laid by police at Vigilance Rotary Chowk Jammu under the overall supervision of Uttam Chand SSP Jammu."
" During naka checking a Maruti Car 800 (JK11A-0944) on its way from MLA Hostel towards Vigilance Rotary was intercepted and during frisking of occupants of Car identified namely Mohd Ishtyak s/o Mohd Zafar and Mohd Shafiq Charak s/o Mohd Afzal (both from Rajouri district), police team recovered 13 grams of Heroin from their possession (06 grams Heroin recovered from the possession of Mohd Ishtyak and 07 grams Heroin recovered from the possession of Mohd Shafiq). "On questioning duo revealed that they were taking the said consignment to their native villages for selling it to the youths, the duo was arrested on the spot and In this regard a case under FIR No. 217/2015 u/s 8/22/NDPS Act stands registered at Pacca Danga Police Station, Jammu and investigation is on." Earlier an intra -district narco smuggler identified as Jailo, son of Roshan Lal, a resident of Rajiv Nagar was held with heroin worth Rs 40,000 from Rajiv Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Narwal police post late last evening.
On Dec 28, Police also have arrested a driver identified as Inderpal Singh alias Lovely, s/o Jasbir Singh of Nai Basti, Gandhi Nagar along with heroin worth thousands from Shastri Nagar area, under jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station. Another narcotic smuggler along with heroin from Subash Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar Police Station on the same day alongwith 03 gms of heroin from the accused identified as Mangal Singh Chib, son of Jogeshwar Singh, a resident of Smailpur.
Meanwhile Police also have arrested a police constable namely Arvind Kapoor, son of Raj Kapoor, a resident of Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari posted at Police Control Room (PCR) Jammu along with heroin (02 gms) and intoxicant tablets from Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari, falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station on December 27.
Prior to this, on December 25 police arrested three narcotic smugglers along with 47 gms of heroin worth Rs 3.76 lakh from Shastri Nagar Chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station. The accused have been identified as Anil Kumar alias Chuchu, son of Mohan Lal, Anil Kumar alias Johny, son of Harbans Lal and Amandeep Singh alias Gourav, son of Darshan Singh, trio hailing from R S Pura.
Police also have arrested a narcotics peddler Shubham Sharma, s/o Raj Kumar, a resident of Vikas Nagar.along with 04gms of heroin worth thousands from Subhash Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Sarwal Police Post on December 24.
On December 20, police had arrested two narcotic smugglers Rohin Sanyal s/o Sunil Dutt and Shubam Baldotra, s/op Vijay Kumar, both residents of Thathar Paloura along with 06 gms of heroin worth thousands from Shastri Nagar area. |
