Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 31: An IPS officer was said to have conveyed it to the police headquarters (PHQ) that he would seek central deputation in case he was posted in the cold desert region of Leh. PHQ has almost made up its mind to post the officer at Leh and has also spoken to him in this regard. The officer has, however, expressed his unwillingness to go to the cold desert region and conveyed it to the PHQ that he would prefer a central deputation to a posting at Leh, according to police sources. The order for his posting was to be issued in the last state cabinet meet, but it was deferred at the eleventh hour. He is at present holding a significant post in Jammu. Sources said though he had also approached the PHQ in the recent past and requested it to decide against posting him at Leh, the response was in the negative. "He has told the PHQ that he will not go on central deputation in case he is posted in Jammu region," the sources added. At one point of time, there was also a proposal to post him as police chief of Jammu district, sources said. |
