Amit Shah's re-election raises hopes of early formation of Govt in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 25: The state BJP leadership is likely to meet the party president Amit Shah to discuss the issue of government formation in the Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP president intends to have this meeting before possible meeting with the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. According to the sources, Amit Shah after his re-election as the party president wants to start his innings on a positive note and it's for this reason that he doesn't want to squander the chance of BJP government in the state, as the party had come to power for the first time just 10-month back. "Amit Shah is man who guided BJP to win 26 seats for the first time in J&K. After series of electoral defeats, he is now more conciliatory in nature and will try to accommodate the view points of both the PDP and BJP to keep the alliance working and going," said the sources. Sources said that Amit Shah will also like to review the the working of the BJP Ministers in the past 10-month and also discuss ways to carry forward. He would like to hear the apprehensions and concerns of his own party workers before meeting Mehbooba Mufti. "He knows that unlike Mufti Sayeed, Mehbooba Mufti has strong views on certain issues and he will like to be better armed to counter them or suggest an alternative to it," said the sources. The success of running the BJP government in J&K is a major challenge for the BJP president as having a government here which is seen as sensitive to aspirations of the Kashmiris-read Muslims- will be a major push to him to counter the political challenges in the UP and also in other states where the BJP has been pushed to a tight spot. |
