Jammu, Jan 25 : Nowabad police today claimed to have arrested one narcotic smuggler and recovered 02 gms of Heroin from his possession during naka checking. Police have identified the accused namely as Akash Mantu @ Kaashi s/o Varinder kumar r/o Hazoori Bagh,Jammu. Police sources said, "Based on information about the movement of narcotics drug peddler, the police team laid a naka at Patel Nagar locality and during naka check ng intercepted Akash for his suspicious movements." During his frisking police recovered 02 gms of contraband from his possession, sources said.
They said police already have inputs that the Akash was working as a drug peddler in winter capital and was supplying intoxicants/drugs to youngsters. The operation was conducted by SHO Nowabad Inspector Ravinder Singh Rakwal under close supervision of SDPO City West Sandeep Choudhary and SP city North Vinod Kumar under overall supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand IPS.
