Severe cold freezes Doda 1/31/2016 10:55:15 PM Early Times Report Doda, Jan 31: For the last three days most of the Chenab valley region is under the grip of severe cold due to fresh snowfall in the mountains of Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and various other places in chenab region. Sources said that there is severe cold in remote areas of different villages. People of some villages alleged that there is acute shortage of essential commodities and ration supply but the department of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department is not making arrangements for supply of ration like Atta ,Rice and Sugar to these places said Abdul Samad of Barath village. There is resentment among the people of Kishtwar area against the Food and Supplies department for irresponsible attitude towards the huge rural population in Dachan, Sarore, Nagsani, Tatani, Kukerwas Hura Banjer, Inderwal, Marwah, Sarthal Bomjwah etc. Local people said that the department was supposed to dump the food grain for rural masses in the month of September as most of the link roads leading to these upper villages remain cut off from rest of the state and district headquarter as well but department is paying least attention to these villages. However the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan told this correspondent that there is shortage of ration particularly Atta from the central store Jammu and supply of Atta is not coming to these areas for the last couple of months and due to which there is hue and cry in these villages. In Doda district of Chenab valley region people too are facing shortage of ration. The huge population residing in upper reaches alleged that they are facing difficulties and hardships mostly in winter season as administration as well as officials concerned are least bother about rural masses in this mountain locked region.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
