| Job aspirants accuse I&FC of ruining their career | | Applications submitted 3 yrs ago rejected | | Majid Nabi

Srinagar, Jan 30 : Accusing Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department, of ruining their future , job aspirants from different parts of the valley claimed that the authorities have rejected their application forms which they had accepted three years ago. The aspirants while talking to 'Early Times' said that I&FC department had in 2013 issued advertisement notice for the post of 'Work Supervisor', although after three years the department in re-advertisement notification this year asked earlier applicants to reapply.
They alleged that the applications of most of the aspirants who had applied in 2013 were rejected on pretext that they are not eligible for the post. Pertinent to mention here that I&FC department according to its re-advertisement notice on 16/1/2016 had suggested "that for those who had applied in response to the earlier notification, their age of eligibility and qualification shall be reckoned as applicable to the advertisement notice no : 1/2013 dated 31/1/2013,"
The notification further reads "they shall however be subjected to the production of proof of having submitted application and participation in the selection process.
The aspirants appealed the Governor to intervene in the matter and order a thorough probe by some credible agency to ascertain the facts. Rizwan-ul-Yasin Lone son of Mohammad Yasin Lone of frontier Karnah claimed that the authorities rejected his job application with act of contrition that the eligibility for the post as per criterion should be 10th, 10+2 or Diploma Carpentry Trade or Building Constructions.
"If they would have asked me that I am not eligible for the post I would not have applied in 2013,it is categorically mentioned in re-advertisement notification that the candidates who have already applied in 2013 are entitled for reapplying," Rizwan told 'Early Times' He claimed that he has done Diploma in Civil Engineering from Royal Polytechnic which covers both Carpentry Trade and Building Constructions Subjects.
"If they could accept my application in 2013 why not this time, this is sheer injustice with me, I am poor putting up in a rented room here, I think they have committed a fraud upon us which needs to be investigated," he said. Rizwan said that the authorities are floating their own prescribed norms and then forcing the educated unemployed youth to run form pillar to post. Showkat Hussain another aspirant while narrating the sorry tale of authorities said "If they would have rejected my application in 2013, I would have applied for another job but they wasted my three years and then rejected my application without any cause or justification," "My only submission to the higher-ups of I&FC Department is as to how they accepted my form in 2013 with same qualification and now rejected when I reapplied for the post as per the directions," said Hussain. |
