Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31 : Almost three weeks after they were restrained from training at the MA stadium due to security reasons in view of the republic day celebrations, the prime training sports centre was thrown open to the sports persons of various disciplines. While their faces lit up to return to their respective playing fields, most sports persons expressed no grudge on the move of the authorities to restrain their entry in the stadium weeks ahead of R-Day every year. They admitted that their training process took a serious brunt due to the restrictions, but very sportingly accepted the restrictions as it was imperative to hold the ceremonial function of the national festival of Republic day amidst tight security. They also expressed satisfactions that the stadium gets a facelift in the veil of R-Day which is otherwise not possible. While talking to Early Times, Joint Secretary Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma informed that the Republic Day function is an esteemed National celebration and the Council feels honored to provide the stadium as venue for celebration of the Republic Day every year which is a matter of pride for all of us ; "Ahead of Republic Day Celebration every year, various government agencies put in efforts to give facelift the stadium, which is a great advantage to us" he added. |
