BJP has to take call on Govt formation : PDP | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31: The PDP has put the ball in the BJP's court on the government formation. The party has made it clear to its former alliance partner that things can't be dictated rather a consensual approach has to be taken if the BJP is interested in remaining in power. "We have made it clear to the BJP that like them we too have constituency and that's much more sensitive. Unless they address to it and recognise it, it will not be possible for us to go for the government formation and the final call has to be taken by the BJP," said a senior PDP leader wishing not to be named. According to the sources the PDP leaders present in the meeting told the party president that a stern message should also be sent out that BJP can't be allowed to have a big brother attitude as governance is the responsibility of both the parties. Sources said the PDP president had also told the party leaders that she is not hankering for the power and that she can't allow the legacy of Mufti Sayeed go a waste just for the sake of the power. "Mufti Sayeed forged an alliance for changing the narrative of the state not for the power. PDP can always have second chance of coming to the power but it will not be so for the BJP as if our experience is not good that it has sealed any chance with the NC as that too has constituency in the Kashmir, so the call has to be taken by the BJP, which will be an eventual loser it allows the Jammu and Kashmir to slip away," said the leader.
