Common people deprive off awareness programme on 'Beti Bachao- Beti Padao" 2/3/2016 11:18:17 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Feb 3: Directorate of Field Publicity Udhampur Unit, Jan Sochana Abhiyan, Press Information Bureau and other media units of ministry of Information & Broadcasting today organized Public Information Campaign to educate locals on "Beti Bachao- Beti Padao" but it turned to be a flop show as the most of the chairs were seen empty and others were occupied by employees and students and ASHA workers only but no common masses. Divisional Commissioner Dr Pawan Kotwal was chief guest on this occasion but unfortunately common people were deprived off such a mega awareness programme organized to create awareness among common masses about the campaign against female feticide and to educate the girl child, The programme was organized at Sports Stadium Kathua but empty chairs left the organizers to feel a humble pie in front of chief guest. The programme was meant to aware common people to save the girl child but Directorate of Field Publicity turned the programme for babus (Bureaucrats) and government employees rather than those who needed the most. District Level officers thronged the venue leaving their official works that triggered rage among visitors who travel several miles to reach in their offices, public departments were also asked to attend the occasion, "Aganwari workers closed their centres, Students and staff faculty members from Government Girls & Boys Higher Secondary schools Kathua are were goaded to venue of function but those for whom the function was organized were not invited resulting most the chairs lying vacant at the venue, sources said. The objective of progarmme was to convey the message of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi to save girl child was lost and it turned into common exhibition cum fair for entertainment than actually aware the people about ' Beti Bachao- Beti Padao'.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
