Judo Karate Training Camp organized in GDC Kathua | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 3: District Police Kathua today organized a Judo Karate Training camp in Govt. Degree College Kathua to provide training to Girl students of the college in which 200 girls of the college were provided basic training of Judo Karate. The training camp was inaugurated by SSP Kathua, Neeva Jain who in her inaugural address, laid emphasis on Judo Karate training of college girls so that they may be able to defend themselves whenever any untoward incident of eve teasing or any attack on their modesty takes place. She said that police is not always present everywhere and hence the girls should rebound with courage and give a befitting reply to such eve teasers. Special instructors who were Black Belt holders having national and international experience were engaged by police department to provide this training. Principal of the college, Dr. Nater Singh thanked District Police Kathua for giving the golden opportunity to the girl students of the college to learn the art of self defence and said that a lot of people don't realise that the dexterity and flexibility integral to Karate is very beneficial to even people who want to stay one step ahead of the aging process. Earlier Deputy Superintendent Rakesh Singh Sambyal introduced the Judo Karate instructors to the college students and guided them to follow all the instructions and the steps for better learning. Faculty members of the college Prof. P K Rao, Prof. Sumanesh, Prof. Raj Kiran, Dr. Rachna, Prof. Madhavi Mnaohar and Dr. Deepshikha also gave their cooperation in organzing this camp. |
