Rajouri freezes as Pir Panjal gets fresh snowfall | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Mar 13: Heavy rains and snowfall in Pir Panjal Mountain ranges for the last three consecutive days have brought considerable drop in the temperature in the entire Rajouri district including Rajouri town. No loss to life and property has been reported from the district during these days however, tehsil administration has asked the 5 families of Kewal village in Kotranka sub-zone to shift to nearby safer places as damage to under construction road has been reported near their houses. Kuldeep Singh , SHO, Budhal police station said that only Mohd Shabir has agreed to shift to safe place while other four families are in safe area. "Precautionary measures have been taken to shift the five families from Kewal village after some reports that heavy rains may cause land sliding near their houses on Kewal-Targain under construction Kewal-Targain road. "Tehsildar has been camping at Kewal to monitor the situation arising out of heavy rains in the area.All the senior police and civil officers have been camping in their respective areas to meet any eventuality" said Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Deputy Commissioner. He added the administration has not received any information about a damage to Kacha house of Talib Hussain in village Kotdhara. However, we are varying the report uploaded on social media. All the roads in the district including Jammu-Poonch highway are open for vehicular traffic. |
