Jammu, Mar 17: Alleging the Relief Commissioner (M) for his lackadaisical approach towards the migrants the pending shopkeepers Association today threatened self immolation if shops constructed at Jogti township were not allotted to them, the sources said. Pending shopkeepers Association headed by Annu Ji, Piaray Lal and Munu ji along with other association members today protested in the office premises of Relief Commission RK Pandita for his pathetic approach towards the Kashmiri migrants. They said despite the approval by the Chief Secretary of the state to allot the constructed 56 shops at Jagti Townships to the deserving people after verification and other necessary formalities, the Association members blamed Relief Commissioner (M) for not obeying the order of the higher authority and leaving the migrant youth in lurch for obvious reasons. As the Relief Commissioner was not available in his office at the time of protest, the Executive Engineer in his office RK Bhat pacified the agitations who were threatening of self immolation, and assured them a face-to-face meeting with RC on Friday the sources said. On the assurance of XEN RK Bhat the agitators call off the protest and will again assemble in the office premises of Relief Commissioner on Friday. |
