Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 17: As the former Ministers in then PDP- BJP Government have not vacated their official bungalows even after a week's time since the notices served to them, the Estates Department is mulling issuance of a warning and action for the compliance of its directive. According to official sources, there has been no progress in respect of vacating Government bungalows by thirteen Ex Ministers, including four Ministers of State, who were served separate notices by the Estates Department on March 9 for eviction of the official accommodation within one week. Till date, these Ex Ministers have not initiated the process of shifting their belongings from these Government bungalows even as the Estates Department has identified suitable Government quarters for them as alternate accommodation in the capacity of their status as sitting Legislators, sources added. These Ex Ministers, who were issued notice to vacate bungalows, included then Dy CM Dr Nirmal Singh, Chander Parkash Ganga, Choudhary Sukhnandan, A R Veeri, Naeem Akhtar, Bali Bhagat, Priya Sethi, Sunil Sharma, Sajjad Lone and others. A few Ministers, including Choudhary Zulfikar Ahmad and Pawan Gupta, who were allotted the bungalows but had not shifted there, were not required to be issued notices for vacation of the same, sources explained. Even as no Ex-Minister has approached the court for seeking stay on the eviction notice, sources said that all of them are still hoping against hopes on formation of Government in Jammu Kashmir very soon and their installation as Ministers again with all privileges, including official bungalows. However, on the other hand, top sources hint that Estate Department would have no option other than to take action for eviction of bungalows if any Ex-Minister does not shift to the newly identified accommodation even as no deadline for the same has so far been set. |
