Alleging 'biased' judgment, farmer protest over awards in Agri Mela 3/17/2016 11:08:01 PM MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Mar 17: An agricultural mela was organised here today in which some progressive farmers were given away cash rewards but a faction alleging biased judgment protested against the results of the prize distribution ceremony Protesting farmers alleged that the organizers adopted a pick and chose policy to announce the awards. "The winning farmers were given away cash rewards of Rs 300 for 'A ' Category , Rs 200 to 'B' category and Rs 100 to 'C' category , on the occasion. Consolation prizes f Rs 100 were also given to several farmers," alleged a farmer. Protestors further alleged that they have seen for the first time that a meagre cash award was given to the progressive farmers.
