Wrong policies of BJP halted development in state, particularly remote areas: Dr Manohar | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Mar 17: During his visit to far-flung area of Kathua, the senior Congress leader, former Minister and General Secretary PCC, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today said that the wrong policies of BJP led government have completely halt the development of state and adversely affect the conditions of backward and far-flung areas. He said that there are no funds for development of backward and far-flung areas of state in general and particularly Billawar ,Basohli and Bani of Kathua since the formation of the government. Dr Sharma said that Congress-NC coalition government has started special program for development of backward and far-flung and remote area of state namely 'Bad Pocket Area Development Programe' and for which Rs 50 crores kept in budget every year from financial year 2011-12 in additional to normal funds, but BJP released nothing till date since its formation. "A number of schemes of Billawar, Basohli and Bani under PHE,PWD(R&B),PDD and creation of sub stations has started during 2011-12,but all projects had been left midway due to non availability of funds, he alleged. Dr Sharma alleged that BJP and PDP government had closed 1380 primary schools and a number of middle schools in state and most of them from far-flung which directly affects the literacy of people living in remote areas of state and there is no medicine in government hospitals in state particularly in far-flung and remote areas. Dr Sharma also said that public of the entire Jammu region has suffered due to the lack of governance in the previous 10 months. "The failure of the government exposed the real face of BJP and its leadership before the public of the region, he added. He said that BJP has made tall claims but after coming in power, it surrendered itself completely at the hands of PDP to enjoy power . He appealed Jammuites to remain united and to fight for common cause of the region. |
