| Inter-college symposium on 'truth & non violence' held | | | Early Times Report
poonch, Mar 17: Gandhi Global Family under the aegis of Higher Education department organized an Inter college symposium on the topic 'Relevance of Gandhian philosophy of truth & non violence in present day socio - political global scenario' here today at in Govt Degree College (GDC) Poonch.
The programme was organized in the multipurpose Hall of the college which was presided over by Prof M H Shah District Coordinator Gandhi Global Family and K K Kapoor renowned educationist of Poonch was chief guest.
Students and faculty members including non teaching faculty and representatives from GDC Mendhar Prof. Mohd Ayaz Mughal, Prof Mohd Rafiq of Muqadas Degree College, Dr Tanvur Hussain of GDC Surankote along with participants from these colleges attended the function.
In total twelve students from four colleges of which Ms Saiqa Sharif Khan (Sem IV), Manik Sharma of (Sem II) and Mohd Omar of (Sem II) GDC Poonch secured top three slots respectively and were awarded cash prize of Rs 5000/-, Rs 3000/- and Rs 2000/- .
The programme was held as the part of series of programmes organized in the same theme in the college of the state under the direct supervision of Padamshri S. P Verma Vice President Gandhi Global Family propagating Gandhian philosophy and spreading the message of truth and non violence throughout the country.
A panel of K K Kapoor, Prof Mohd Ayaz and Dr Mohd Latief Mir adjudged the performances of participants.
Prof M.H.Shah District Coordinator Gandhi Global Family also spoke on this occasion and said truth and non violence can act as panacea for all problems. |
