Jammu, June 26: The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) conducted Combined Entrance Test (CET) - 2016, on June 26, 2016. A total of 1983 students sat in the entrance test for admission to 215 undergraduate seats in agriculture sciences, veterinary sciences and biotechnology. Compared to CET -2015, there was a rise of 19 percent students appearing in CET 2016. Girls outnumbered the boys. Percentage of girls appearing in the CET was 62 percent and boys 38 percent.
In all 2169 students had applied for these three undergraduate programmes, and out of which more than 92 percent of the applicants appeared in the entrance test. For the last four years SKUAST Jammu conducts its own CET for admission to the professional undergraduate courses offered by it. CET 2016 was held at the SKUAST Jammu campuses at R S Pura and Chatha, and at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar. The entrance test passed off without any untoward incident. Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma, vice chancellor, SKUAST Jammu visited the test centers at Chatha to oversee the conductance of CET and appreciated the arrangements made for the entrance test. |
