Diesel loaded tanker plunges into 300 ft deep gorge, driver injured | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 29: A tanker loaded with diesel plunged into 300 feet deep gorge resulting driver of the tanker sustained severe injuries while a tragedy was averted as the truck was loaded with high speed diesel at Chanderkote area. Police spokesman said that a tanker bearing registration number JK02R-5727 loaded with Diesel while on way towards Srinagar lost balance and fell down from NHW-44 inside 84 BN CRPF camp Boom around 300 ft below. The injured driver namely Amrik Singh son of Kehar Singh of Gole Pulli Talab Tillo Jammu shifted to District hospital (DH) Ramban wherefrom he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for further treatment. Fire tenders were called on spot with police and paramilitary persons to tackle any emergency situation as the tanker was loaded with High Speed Diesel and diesel had spread at the site besides oozing from the damaged tank. SHO police station, Chanderkote Inspector Daljeet Singh, CRPF personnel of 84 BN carried the preventive rescue operation under the direct supervision of Randeep Kumar SSP Ramban. A case under FIR no. 34/2016 under sections 279 and 337 of RPC has been registered at Chanderkote police station for further investigation. |
