Cornered BJP takes refuge in blatant lie | Says, RSS didn't host any iftar party | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 29: The ideology of the BJP and the RSS is being question by all in the country, barring, of course, the hardcore members of the Sangh Parivar. Everyone is attacking both the BJP and the RSS and their argument is that the Sangh Parivar has completely deviated from the path it used to tread till recently. The attack on the RSS and the BJP became sharper and bitter after at least Union Ministers - MoS External Affairs VK Singh and Harshvardhan, besides a number of senior BJP leaders, including Sanjay Joshi, attended the Iftar party hosted by Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit the other day in New Delhi within the premises of the Pakistan High Commission. The critics of the Sangh Parivar accused it of showing complete insensitivity to the eight CRPF martyrs. While the whole country was seething with anger and demanding action against Pakistan and the nation was in a state of mourning in the wake of the martyrdom of eight CRPF jawans, the RSS hosted an Iftar party inside Parliament and the BJP ministers and leaders enjoyed the iftar party thrown by Abdul Basit. The Pakistan High Commissioner had hosted the iftaar party on the same day when Lashkar terrorists attacked the CRPF bus at Pampore (Kashmir) and killed eight CRPF jawans and left many others seriously injured. Basit insulted India and the martyrs when reporters asked him to comment on Pampore attack. " Don't ask political question and enjoy the Iftar party," Basit said. This outrageous and insensitive statement of Basit has stung the bleeding nation and people are seething with anger. When cornered, the BJP on Tuesday said, "The RSS did not host any Iftar party". At the same time, the BJP refused to react to what Basit had said to outrage the Indian nation. The BJP minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who feigned ignorance about the Basit's Iftar party, only said he didn't know who attended the Iftar party but didn't forget to say, "We should not politicize the Iftar party." The assertion of the BJP that the RSS did not host any Iftar party is wrong. The fact of the matter is that the RSS' affiliate Muslim Muslim Ekta Manch hosted an iftar party in the premises of the Parliament. The only difference is that the RSS cancelled the invite to Pakistan High Commissioner and other Pakistanis. |
