Congress asks BJP to come out of shadow of CM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 30: A strong protest demonstration was held today at outside Press Club, Jammu which was organized by District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) led by its President Anil Chopra, against the BJP for its silence over the statement of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. The hundreds of Congress activists assembled at outside Press club, carrying banners and play cards in their hands amidst chanting of slogans against BJP for its soft stand towards terrorists and asked the BJP leadership to stop hiding and come out of the shadow of Chief Minister. Speaking on the occasion Raman Bhalla (former Minister) Vice President JKPCC said that the BJP should clear its stand on the dangerous statements of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti regarding the encounter of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani. In her statement she has expressed sympathies with the terrorists and encouraged them by saying that their sacrifices will not go waste and did not uttered a single word for security forces who are fighting with militancy and scarifying their lives for protection of Kashmir and Kashmiri people. Anil Chopra in his address said that that Chief Minister is clear on her stand but the BJP who is equal partner in the coalition Govt. and also the ruling party at the Centre should explain to the people whether it endorse the statement of Mehbooba Mufti or not and if not it should immediately snap ties with the PDP. He said that the people of Jammu who have voted BJP, with the hope that it will serve the interests of J&K, especially the Jammu, now feel that they have been cheated and lost their faith on BJP. Vikram Malhota- General Secretary PCC while addressing said the BJP's rhetoric on Kashmir right now seems to be in direct conflict with the public stand of the PDP, BJP in the State. The present security scenario in the Stated is a matter of concern and especially when there is lack of coherence between the government and the security forces. |
