DC Shopian constitutes task force to check employees' attendance

Shopain, July 30: With normalcy returning back to Shopian district of South Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner has constituted a four member task force committee to ensure presence of employees in offices.
DC Shopian, Ghulam Ahmad Dar told Early Times that order was issued after the curfew and restrictions were lifted. "We have already lifted curfew restrictions, normalcy is returning to district, few shops remained open throughout the day and private vehicles were playing on roads as well," DC informed.
He said that all the district and sectoral heads have already joined the duties but the lower rung officers and employees haven't reported fallowing which a Task force committee was constituted to monitor the presence and attendance of employees from Monday.
The Task Force is a four-member committee including ADC Shopian, CEO Shopian, Dy CEO Shopian and Tehsildar Shopian and has been directed to
report the attendance of employees to government.
The order copy has been sent to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and all other officers concerned "for information and compliance".
Answering a question related to disbursement of rice, sugar and other essentials among the people Deputy Commissioner Shopian claimed that Food and Consumer Affairs Department (FCAD) has distributed rice and covered whole population of the district, however said that district is facing shortage of sugar. "We have distributed rice but are short of sugar," he admitted. When asked about the reports of Timber smuggling and encroachment of forest land in the district, DC assured stringent action against those taking undue advantage of prevailing situation. Notably, Kashmir is witnessing uprising since July 08 of this month- the day Hizb militant commander Burhan Wani was killed by forces in Kokernag area of South Kashmir. At least 52 civilians have been killed during the clashes that broke out between forces and youth in Kashmir despite curfew was clamped.
