Talks or no talks with separatists is policy matter: GOC Delta Force | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Aug 23: General Officer in Command Delta Force, Major General S S Tinakar today said that talks or no talks with separatist (Huriyat) is a policy and a political matter to be decided by the government. While talking to the media persons on the side lines of the mega cultural festival organized by Kishtwar based 17 RR at Chowghan ground, thr GOC in response to "Early Times" question on the views expressed by Major General Hooda advocating talks with Huriyat to bring an end to ongoing Kashmir unrest said that he did not want to comment on what Mr. Hooda said adding that decision of holding talks with separatist is a policy matter and he has no say on it. The GOC also refused to comment on speculations of local youths joining militancy after the killing of Burhan wani added that it is not a right occasion to talk on it. "I cannot answer this question-this question is basically related to Kashmir - as far as we are concerned with Kishtwar-there is no such thing happening - there is absolutely peace in Kishtwar " said Tinakar. He said that the success of today's program with huge participation of the people itself speaks and emphasized that there is peace in Kishtwar and in Chenab valley. He also refuted the reports that militants from Kashmir valley are entering into Chenab valley areas and said that there is no truth behind such reports. |
