Thief held, stolen ornaments worth lakhs recovered | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 17: With the arrest of a thief and recovery of stolen gold and silver ornaments, Police claimed to have worked out a theft case reported in old city of winter capital of state. Police spokesman said, "One Shoba Devi of Dhontli Panjtirthi lodged complaant with police stating that during intervening night of 10/11 a theft took place at her home." Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR 122/16 under sections 457 and 380 of RPC registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigations were taken up. "During course of investigations, a person namely Mustaq Ahmed son of Samdhu of Grah Morh Reasi has been detained who during questioning broke down and confessed his crime. "On his disclosures the theft property of gold and silver ornaments of worth several lakh were been recovered," said spokesman, further adding that the accused has confessed his involvement in other thefts also and more recoveries are also expected soon. The whole operation was conducted by SI Vikas Hans, in-charge Police Post Panjtirthi under the supervision of Vivek Shekhar SDPO North and Vinod Kumar SP City North. |
