Medical workers strike enters third day | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 17: Indefinite strike started by all medical workers union on 15-9-2016 today entered third day which has paralyzed the functioning of essential sections/units in Medical College and its subordinate hospitals. There has been no work in the Super Speciality Hospital, Medical College Hospitals, C.D.Hospital, Children Hospital. In a press release, it was informed that due to indefinite strike of the workers the functioning of Super Specialty Hospital has been completely affected where OPD and Dialysis centre of the hospital are completely shut down. Besides the new emergency A.C.Plant of Medical College has also been made non-functional by the technical workers. The President of the union, Puneet Sharma said that the Head of the Hospital administration shall be responsible for any loss, damage to the sophisticated machinery there. He said that the Department has forced them to go on strike as notice in advance was given to the authorities listing their demands which included release of 30 months pending wages/salaries to the workers and to introduce policy for regularization. He threatened that unless their demands are not met and written order issued, the strike will continue |
